BERRIEN SPRINGS, MICHIGAN – OCTOBER 16, 2024 – Honor Credit Union is thrilled to celebrate the success of its Free Community Shred Days, making a big impact across Michigan. In partnership with the NAID Certified Data Guardian and the Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority, Honor hosted 10 shred events in 2024 at member locations statewide. Together, these events safely disposed of 64,920 pounds of paper, helping communities securely declutter while supporting environmental sustainability.
These free events are open to everyone, both members and non-members, and aim to promote the safeguarding of personal information by securely destroying confidential documents. Additionally, all unused paper has been recycled to support environmental conservation efforts.
This service aligns with Honor’s dedication to advancing green initiatives. To advance this movement, Honor provides digital services such as online and mobile banking, along with paperless e-statements, to further reduce its carbon footprint.
Honor expresses its appreciation to its business partners for their generous offers to host a Shred Day event at their locations. A special thank you to Moonraker Restaurant, Sandy Hill Elementary, Allegan True Value, and MOSAIC Resale for their invaluable support and partnership.
For nearly 10 years, Free Community Shred Days have been a long-standing tradition at Honor. They look forward to continuing to provide a safe way to dispose of personal information, contribute to environmental sustainability, and provide peace of mind to their community in 2025, as that schedule will be released early next year.
