NEGAUNEE, MICHIGAN – AUGUST 22, 2024 – Honor Credit Union is proud to share its new partnership with Negaunee Little League (NLL). This collaboration, assisted by The City of Negaunee, supports the funding and recent innovations at LaCombe Field.
As part of this partnership, Honor generously contributed $5,000 as a Dugout Sponsor to the NLL. This supports the enhancement of community spaces by funding a new dugout installation that is ADA compliant, improving accessibility for everyone. Fundraising tactics began in 2023, and several donations have been made toward this project since.
“Negaunee is a thriving community with a deep sense of purpose, where every contribution enhances and enriches lives,” commented Sarah Wackerle, Negaunee Member Center Manager at Honor Credit Union. “This sponsorship perfectly aligns with Honor’s values and NLL, offering a valuable opportunity for people of all ages to come together, share experiences, and build camaraderie, along with unforgettable memories. It is a key element that threads the community together.”
The NLL upgrade also includes new sidewalks for better field access. These fields will serve the entire community, accommodating high school teams, alumni softball games, and other community events for years to come.
NLL Secretary Kay Ryan shares her appreciation of the recent partnership, emphasizing Honor’s efforts to become the first sponsor toward these new improvements.
“Thank you to Honor Credit Union for your continued support of Negaunee Little League,” commented Ryan. “When we partnered with the City of Negaunee to improve the LaCombe Field and facilities, we knew fundraising was going to be a challenge. Honor Credit Union stepped up and, and once again, supported us. We couldn’t offer a quality program for the youth in our community without their support.”
The City of Negaunee recently made this partnership official on August 14 by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at LaCombe Field, with local individuals and businesses in attendance. Honor is proud to invest in a long-term partnership with Negaunee Little League and will be looking forward to the nurturing opportunities this transformation will bring to baseball and softball enthusiasts.
