Honor Welcomes Thomas Hatfield as Community Development Officer

KALAMAZOO MICHIGAN – AUGUST 5, 2024 – Honor Credit Union is proud to announce the hire of Thomas Hatfield as Community Development Officer (CDO) for the Kalamazoo and Portage communities.

Thomas will join the Business Services team and collaborate closely with various departments, including Honor’s Member Center Managers, Member Experience, Marketing, and Real Estate teams.

Together, they aim to foster relationships, support the community, and facilitate connections that deliver financial solutions for success. As CDO, Thomas champions community organizations and cultivates business partnerships.

Thomas brings a wealth of experience. He earned his Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Kalamazoo Valley Community College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Sales and Marketing from Western Michigan University. He spent six and a half years in the credit union sector, followed by one and a half years as an agency owner at Farm Bureau Insurance, holding the requisite insurance licenses.

He noted, “With my background in banking and insurance, I bring a unique set of skills to help with business development, financial literacy, and community outreach to the greater Kalamazoo area. I foresee long-lasting relationships that will enhance Honor’s growing footprint.”

Thomas is deeply enthusiastic and committed to his new role at Honor. He expressed, “I’m excited to leverage my competitive spirit in a role that fosters meaningful connections with individuals. Each day presents a fresh challenge, a new puzzle to solve. I’m driven by innovative thinking and purposeful community development.”
